Anniversary card for two wonderful people!

Hi there! I hope you are enjoying a bright Spring-like day, which is what we are blessed with here in Northern Ireland. Today I'm sharing a card with you that I made last weekend for my daughter and son-in-law for their 4th wedding anniversary. I had used the sketch here at Retrosketches #156 and then I forgot to post a picture of it. I thought I was too late for the challenge but then I discovered that Arielle who runs the challenge had had computer problems and had decided to extend the deadline so I'm in on time!

As you can see I did some paper piecing, which I always enjoy, a bit of water colouring and some stamping with the addition of some tiny wooden hearts and a wooden banner.

Thanks for popping by today!

Clean splats!

If there is such a thing as a clean splat! I really liked the sketch at Case This Sketch this week and thought I would try out this technique for the first time. I'm pleased with the results. I took my colours from Peonies and Paper Chains (although this is not a challenge, just a five colour combo for inspiration every Friday). I think this would do well for a masculine card. Don't those colours go really well together? I used the Gorgeous Grunge and Hip Notes stamps.

Mother's Day card

Me again! I just posted a card about an hour again and here I am with another one which I've just made for my MiL for Mother's Day! I used the lovely and simple sketch over at CAS Colours and Sketches for this one. The challenge closes on Monday which is why I had to get it in today.

Thanks for looking...again!!

Card Concept Vellum

Hi there folks! I'm popping in with a card I made for my mum's friend who had surgery recently. I made this card last week and then forgot to post it. So here it is, and I'm entering it into the challenge at The Card Concept which finishes on Monday 16th March, the Mod Squad Challenge which is to 'use flowers' and Word Art Wednesday where you can make any card as long as it's encouraging and uplifting.

I've always liked the soft look that you get with embossing on to vellum and then colouring on the other side. I couldn't resist adding the little sequins to brighten it up and give that extra wee bit of bling!

Sponged Green

Hi there folks, today I'd like to share a cute card and matching gift box I made for my daughter's best friend who is getting married soon. It's clean and simple and was quick and easy to make!

I know this looks like a box of tissues but it's definitely more than that!!!

I'm entering the card into Addicted to Stamps and More (Challenge is - Clean and Simple)

and Happy Little Stampers (Sponging)

The box is being entered into Anything But a Card (use Green)

That's all for now!

Freshly Made Sketch #176

Hi there! Hope you are all well and enjoying your Saturday. I haven't been well for almost two weeks and last week I was pretty bad so I haven't even had the strength to make a card. But yesterday I started to feel a bit better and today I'm feeling a lot better so I managed this card for Freshly Made Sketches #176.
Sorry the picture quality isn't great.
Here's the sketch; I would definitely use this one again:
Bye for now!
